• The Argentine sea is known to be one of the largest seas in the world. It has a surface area of about 390,000 square miles. Also, the Argentine sea is considered to be one of the most temperate seas in the world. This is due to warm Bazil current coming from the north, and the cold Falkland current coming from the south, that flows into the sea.
• The Argentine sea can be found just off the southeast coast of the Argentine mainland in the South Atlantic Ocean. With basin countries including Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile, the sea is 500 miles north of Antarctica.
• The Argentine sea has just two major islands which serve as habitats for many animal species as well as human beings. Falkland Islands and Tierra del Fuego are the major islands of the sea, although the Falkland Islands can be found within the continental shelf of the Argentine Sea.
• The Argentine sea is a very deep sea, and not as shallow as other seas. The sea has an average depth of 3,952 feet(1,205 meters), and a maximum depth of about 7,296 feet(2,224 meters). Because of its depth, ships and other large vessels can sail across without any hinderace or problem.

• Salinity of the Argentine sea is very low. With about 3.5% of the entire sea being salty, we can only conclude that it has a low salinity.
